If the machine has any bit Office components you can't load bit components on the same machine. Try the bit download found here:. When MS recompiled Office applications to create 64 bit versions the various program files had the same file names, no surprise. When MS created the 64 bit installer, they cheaped out and install the 64 bit program files to the same locations as 32 bit Office installs. The installer checks, and displays the message you see.
MS changed the default install to 64 bit earlier this year. Uninstall and Re-install is just installing 64 bit Office. Since there does not appear to be a 64 bit Access Run Time, you have to uninstall Office and explicitly install 32bit Office. The Offline Installer should allow you to install Office without an internet connection after the file is downloaded. This page also gives you the option to explicitly select 32 or 64 bit installation.

I receive the message 'We can't install the bit version of Office because we found the following bit program on your PC: Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component Please uninstall. I have spent many hours installing and uninstalling to no avail. Either the database runs or the VB app runs. I have up-to-date Windows 10, VB Charles Norris.
